Listen to Jesus Christ or Die

This won’t come as a surprise to you when I tell you that everyone dies.

But the Holy Bible tells us that physical death is not the end of human life. It is appointed for men and women to die once and then face the Judgement. Hebrews 9:27.

The one who will judge us is Jesus Christ, and His judgement for us will be heaven of the Second Death in the Lake of Fire.

But how can we know this is true?

In my book – Evidence for God: Prophecies, Miracles and the Power of God, I have listed 100 prophecies of God from the Bible. I have presented them in chronological order to demonstrate the history of humankind, from Creation to our present day has been unfolding according to the predetermined plan and purpose of God.

In one prophecy god tells Moses that in the future God will send another prophet/leader to His people who will be like Moses. God also prophesied that whoever will not listen (and accept) what this leader will say, God will require their life.

But God was not speaking of the death we all will face. God was speaking of the second death in the Lake of Fire.

If we look back through history over 3,400 years to when God gave the prophecy to Moses, then the only person who could be considered like Moses is Jesus Christ (and I have given evidence to this in my book). 

Following Jesus Christ’s crucifixion, death, resurrection and ascension into heaven. One of His disciples, Peter was telling the Jews that Jesus Christ was the Christ, the anointed one of God, who would be like Moses. This is what Peter told them.

13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up, and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had determined to release him. 14 But you denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, to which we are witnesses.

17 “Now, brothers, I know that you did this in ignorance, as did also your rulers. 18 But the things which God announced by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled.

22 For Moses indeed said to the fathers, ‘The Lord God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him in all things whatever he says to you. 23 It will be that every soul that will not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people.Acts 3:13-15, 17-18, 22-23.

What Peter was referring to was not the physical death, because we all live on beyond that. It is the second death in the Lake of Fire that will utterly destroy a person.

This prophecy of God was not just for those who loved 2,000 years ago at the time of Jesus Christ and His disciples. It is for us today, and for every generation that follows. This is a matter of life and death, of eternal life or the second death in the Lake of Fire.

Thankfully, as Peter told the Jews, Jesus Christ came to Earth to provide a way to escape the second death and be assured of eternal life in heaven.

As Jesus Christ told His disciples.

“Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. 3 If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also. 4 You know where I go, and you know the way.”

5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going. How can we know the way?”

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:1-6.

When we consider that all the prophecies of God were fulfilled exactly as God said they would be fulfilled. Then we can be confident the prophecies that God told Moses about Jesus Christ, will also be fulfilled exactly according to the word of God.

We would be fools to ignore this prophecy and warning from God, for God does not want anyone to perish in the second death, but all to come to eternal life in heaven.

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son Jesus Christ. That whoever listens to Him, believes and trusts in Him, shall not perish in the second death but have eternal life in Heaven. John 3:16.
