Are You A Gambling Man or Woman?
Are You A Gambling Man ?
What if someone offered you a bet on a roulette wheel? If the ball landed on Red, you would win ten million pounds. But if the ball landed on Black, you would die. Would you accept the bet? I’m hoping you would refuse the bet, because no amount of money would be worth the risk.
What if the Devil offered you a bet on a roulette wheel ? If the ball landed on Red he would allow you to go to heaven when you die. If the ball landed on black, then you would go to hell when you die? Would you accept the bet?
I’m hoping you would refuse the bet, because Satan (the Devil) doesn’t get to make that decision over your life. Because if he did, he would cheerfully send everyone to hell.
The person who gets to make the decision of whether you go to heaven or hell is Jesus Christ.
Some people don’t believe in God, yet the evidence I have presented in my book – Evidence for God: Prophecies, Miracles and the power of God The 100 prophecies of God not only prove that God does exist, but it also proves that the history of humankind has been unfolding according to the predetermined plan and purpose of God.
So, let’s assume God does exist and that tomorrow morning you discover you died in your sleep, and find yourself standing before God in the heavenly realms. If God asked you why He should let you into His heaven what would you say?
Would you say, that everything considered you are a good person? Good enough for heaven?
Well, God judges everyone by His perfect moral code, and if you have broken that moral code just once, then you have failed, you are not good enough for heaven. That moral code is called the Ten Commandments of God.
When Jesus Christ was asked which of the commandments was the greatest, the most important commandment.
29 Jesus answered, “The greatest is, ‘Hear, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one: 30 you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. 31 The second is like this, ‘You shall love your neighbouras yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”Mark 12:29-31.
So, have you ever failed to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and body?
And the answer is, you have broken the greatest commandment of God every day of your life!
So, if God judges you by His commandments, will he find you innocent or guilty of breaking His laws, His commandments?
And the answer is He will find you guilty, and the punishment for you sins is the second death in hell. As the Bible tells us.
The Eternal Lake of fire (the Second Death).
10 The Devil who deceived them was thrown into the Lake of Fire and Sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are also. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
11 I saw a great white throne, and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. There was found no place for them.
12 I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened books. Another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Death and Hades were thrown into the Lake of Fire.
This is the second death, the Lake of Fire. 15 If anyone was not found written in the Book of Life, he was cast into the Lake of Fire. Revelation 20:10-15.
Everyone who dies and is cast into the Lake of fire will know that God does exist, that heaven is real, but because of their sins, because they broke the commandments of God they now face eternal separation from God and punishment in the Lake of Fire.
But 2,000 years ago, God provided a way to forgive us our sins as though they never existed, and so God could welcome us into His kingdom of heaven.
The Sacrifice of God
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son Jesus Christ, that whoever believes and trusts in Jesus, should not perish in the second death, but have eternal life in heaven, forever. John 3:16.
Imagine you were on holiday in a foreign country. You stepped off the kerb to cross the road and a car swerved to miss you, crashed and the driver was killed.
The police came arrested you and put you in prison. At the court, you were charged with murder, found guilty and the Judge passed the death sentence. You would be taken out the following day and shot at dawn.
The following morning around 10 am the prison guards came and let you out of your cell. And you asked them, I thought I was going to be shot at dawn. The guards replied, yes, you were, but someone else took your place. They were shot at dawn to pay the penalty for your crime, and so you are free to go.
Would you be happy, would you be grateful to the person who died in your place, so you could live?
Well, when Jesus Christ was nailed to that cross 2,000 years ago, God laid upon him the sins of the world. God laid on Jesus Christ your sins – the sins, the commandments of God that you continually broke each day throughout your life. Jesus died on the cross carrying your sin, so you could live and enjoy everlasting life in heaven.
Are you happy, are you grateful to Jesus for dying in your place?
Jesus Christ Raised from the Dead.
The Bible tells us that The wages of sin is death (the second death). Romans 6:23
And it also tells us that everyone has broken the commandments, we have all sinned against God. but God has laid our sins on Jesus Christ on the cross.
We are all like sheep that have gone astray, we have gone our own way. But the Lord God has laid on Jesus all of our sins. Isaiah 53:6
Jesus died on the cross 2,000 years ago to pay the penalty for our sins. Then Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, and with God the Father and Holy Spirit, Jesus reigns forever.
And the Bible tells us – God demonstrated His love for us in this. While we were all still sinners, Jesus Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

But what does it mean to believe and trust in Jesus Christ?
