Theology Students and False Teaching in The Church

Twenty-five years ago, as I was preparing to begin my Lay Minister training in the Church of England. I read some books by an Anglican priest and theologian, D.R. Victor Pearce. It was through reading his books that warned of the false teaching in the theological colleges and on the Lay Ministers training course.

I was often shocked by false teaching, and often wondered how some of these ministers and priests managed to get into teaching others the Gospel of Christ, when they so clearly detest and sneer at the Word of God.

It is my hope that the content of this article will help prepare you and shield you from the terror of false teaching. Which becomes obvious not only by what some preach and teach, but also by what they omit to preach and teach.

Here is a list of False Teaching, which, being aware of them, and preparing yourself to challenge false teaching, may give you some amusement in defending the Gospel of Christ.

When engaging in defending the Gospel of Christ with those theological intellectual giants, you could (just for the fun of it) ask them what parts of the Ten Commandments they don’t believe in, or believe are just a myth. Enjoy!

False Teaching #1. Ministers who don’t believe in the Virgin birth of Jesus.

False teaching # 2. Ministers who don’t believe in the Prophecies of God.

False Teaching # 3. Ministers who hate those who preach the true Gospel of Christ.

False Teaching # 4. Ministers who don’t believe in Hell.

False Teaching # 5. Ministers who don’t believe the spiritual gifts are for today.

False Teaching # 6. Ministers who tell you that God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life. 

False teaching # 7. Ministers who don’t believe in The Great Commission. 

False teaching # 8. Ministers who tell you that all religions worship the same God.
